my pieces are created with various materials, among them Mexican fire opals and turquoise. these stones spent thousands of years forming beneath the surface of our feet, each becoming unique in their own form. most of my materials are left in their natural state, which means they are porous to any substances they come into contact with. Mexican fire opals are especially porous and susceptible to damage/color change/loss of sparkle and shine if they find themselves submersed in water. As a general rule, try to avoid contact with water, oils or chemicals while wearing your handmade jewely.

If you'd like your jewelry to remain just how you purchased it, please consider

- removing jewelry before swimming, bathing, washing dishes, exercising or going to bed

- apply lotion, makeup or perfume BEFORE putting your jewelry on

- storing your jewelry in a safe place away from chemicals/fumes

cleaning your jewelry:

my favorite and the absolute easiest way to bring the original shine back to your jewels is to use a Sunshine polishing cloth, available through my "basic essentials" page.
